Blake Griffin continuing to boost Celtics in reduced role: ‘Everything that he brings, he lifts our group’

Blake Griffin has been everything the Celtics wanted when they signed him during training camp in October. That continued to be on display in the Celtics’ victory over the Hawks on Saturday night. But one play that stands out that exemplifies what Griffin means to this group, and what this opportunity has meant for the former superstar turned role player, came a month ago.It didn’t even really show up in the box score, either. He got a little busy celebrating with the bench, but made up for it. As the Pistons were coming back up the floor, Griffin deflected a pass, and as the ball traveled out of bounds, he didn’t give up on it.It didn’t matter that it was the last game before the All-Star break, and that he was just a few minutes away from going on vacation. Or that it was a lopsided game, with the result nearly sealed. Griffin dove head-first for th...

But he never felt well technically and woke up this morning feeling “a little bit under the weather.“I didn’t feel the best,” said Cookinham, who will attend the University of Kansas. “I was having a tough day technically. Being third is alright and it’s motivation for outdoors. I was happy to have a great season.”Having already defended her national titles in the 2-mile and 5K in decisive fashion, Belmont’s Ellie Shea was back on the track Sunday for the champion...

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jimmy Kimmel promised “no nonsense” at the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday as Hollywood reconvened for a ceremony that will try to move past one of the most infamous moments in Oscar history. In one of the night’s first awards, Ke Huy Quan, the former child star, capped his extraordinary comeback with the Oscar for best supporting actor. Quan, beloved for his roles as Short Round in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” and Data in “Goonies,” had all but given up acting before being cast in “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” His win, among the most expected of the night, was nevertheless one of its most moving moments. The audience — including his “Temple of Doom” director, Steven Spielberg — gave him a standing ovation as Quan fought back tears. “Mom, I just won an Oscar!” said Quan, whose family fled Vietnam in the war when he was a child. “They say stories like this only happen in the movies. I can’t believe it’s happening,” said Quan. “...
